6+ Months | Toy Peek-A-Boo
Instructions
Using a beloved stuffed animal or toy, play a game of peek-a-boo with your little one. Hide the toy and spark your baby's curiosity by asking where it is. Watch your baby's reaction when you bring the toy into view, and then back out of view again!
The Science
Your baby develops object permanence — the knowledge that things exist even if they are out of view — around 6 months. By continuing to play games in which objects appear and disappear, you reinforce their understanding that objects reappear. This can help reduce separation anxiety later in infancy and increase your baby's comfort to explore new experiences as they get older.
