Pick out a new book or a a old favorite and every few pages ask your child a question about the story. Try some open-ended questions like, "What do you think about that?" or "Why did the character do that?" or questions about feelings like, "How do you think the character felt in that moment?" or "How would you feel if that happened?"
The Science
This exercise will help your child more deeply connect with and observe what is in front of them. By asking questions, you’re encouraging a rich understanding and novel perspective.
