Instructions

A simple activity that taps your child's sense of memory and problem-solving begins by covering a small object under one of three cups or containers. Show your child which cup you've placed the object under and then simply shuffle the cups and ask them to guess where it's gone. As they catch on, increase the complexity of your shuffling and then ask them to try to stump you!

The Science

This activity strengthens memory, attention, and executive functioning. These cognitive skills are foundations for many everyday behaviors including social interactions, cooperation, and following instruction, which makes them important to exercise throughout development.
