3+ | Spotting Bubbles

Instructions

Place your baby on their tummy or they can lie down on their back on a comfortable surface. Slowly blow bubbles and notice how your little one tracks them with their eyes. Be there with your baby, narrating what they might be seeing and experiencing as you engage with each other.

The Science

This activity encourages visual tracking and attention. As your baby develops these skills, they will be able to more fully engage with their everyday world, further broadening and building pathways in the brain. Added bonus: If you choose to pair this exercise with tummy time, you are also strengthening the muscles used for sitting, crawling and walking later in infancy.
